Description

NGC 7635, the Bubble Nebula, is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia, located approximately 7,000 light-years from Earth. Its distinctive bubble-shaped shell is formed by the powerful stellar wind of the massive central star BD+60 2522, which sweeps up and ionizes the surrounding hydrogen gas.
This wide-field image also captures the surrounding emission nebulosity and the nearby open cluster Messier 52, visible toward the upper right. The rich stellar field and red hydrogen-alpha emission reveal the complexity of this active star-forming region in the Milky Way.
